Merry Christmas, Yankees Fans!
Merry Christmas to all of you Yankees fans out there!
You have just recieved an early Christmas gift: Mark Teixeira!
Hank Steinbrenner has not backed down, jumping right into things. He has signed 3 of the top 10 free agents in this year’s choices, including the best pitcher(C.C Sabathia), and, now, the best hitter in Mark Teixeira. (He also signed A.J. Burnett.)
The switch hitting, smooth fielding first baseman had 33 homeruns and 121 RBIs to go along with a .308 batting average last year. Not to mention he had a .997 fielding percentage, near the tops in the league for a first-basemen.
The Yankees agreed to an 8 year deal with him worth 180 million dollars. They weren’t even considered as “in the mix of things” for Teixera, as Sportscenter said that he would either be going to the Nationals or the Red Sox.
Well, the Yankees signed him.
That’s all I have for you.
